5 Songs That Hit the Spot(ify)

My Spotify Release Radar playlist has really been delivering the goods lately. Here are a few hits my ears have been enjoying lately.

NoSo

NoSo is an incredible guitarist who pairs their incredible fingerpicking prowess with powerful lyrics. I recommend “I Feel You” and I’m Embarrassed I Still Think of You” as starter kit songs or watch their Tiny Desk performance below.

Pablo Sáinz Villegas

I saw Pablo Sáinz Villegas in concert a few years ago playing with the Vancouver Symphony, and it was a magical experience. His latest The Blue Album houses beautiful classical guitar adaptions of famous songs like Gymnopédies No 1. and Merry Christmas, Mr. Lawrence. The perfect album to unwind with (also he reminds of Karl guy from Love, Actually which…helps)!

Arlo Parks

I’m adoring “Devotion” by Arlo Parks, which has a beautiful, ambient guitar melody that quickly worms its way into your brain in the best possible way.

St Lucia

This band is so much fun. I’ve seen them live several times and each turns into a wonderful dance party. This remix of “Touch” by Oli Benz amps up the good vibes just that much more.

Half Moon Run

“Everyone’s Moving Out East” is the perfect meditative, melancholy vibe that you need on a rainy day or reflective drive.
