You might not be ready to move on from Taylor Swift yet, but if you are, here are five songs that I’m really enjoying on my summer playlist.
Letting Go – Angie McMahon
This song has been stuck in my head for days largely in part to its driving rhythm and meaningful lyrics.
Somebody Told Me – Sorcha Richardson
I adore Sorcha Richardson, and – unsurprisingly – this killer cover of The Killers, which completely reimagines the song.
Wet – Claud
Claud is a consistent part of my summer soundtrack, and this track off their new album is one I’ve spent a lot of time running around to.
The Woods – Hollow Coves (The Kite String Tangle Remix)
I can already see the future slideshow I will set to this song, that takes Hollow Coves’ indie-acoustic vibe and turns it into an ambient bop.
King of Disappointment – Jem Cassar-Daley
I can thank Triple J for surfacing this single from Australia’s Jem Cassar-Daley, who reminds me of the sound of Sarah Bareilles (although, maybe that’s because of her similarly named “King of Anything” single.)
