It’s been a while, but I have built up a list of fresh jams to make it through the last days of Winter with. Check out some of these new finds filled with indie-acoustic, pop, and synth vibes that will make you want to spring out into the sunshine.
“Roots” – Cautious Clay
I absolutely loved Cautious Clay’s smash single “Cold War”, so I’m delighted that his newest single “Roots” has the makings of another hit. Enjoy a super smooth R&B vocal that contains the catchiest chorus I’ve heard in a while.
“Apricots” – MAY-A
If you like King Princess then you’re going to like 19-year old Byron Bay artist, MAY-A. Her single “Apricots” features a catchy guitar riff and layered pop-vocals that tell a classic tale of queer pain. Definitely scores high on the earworm scale.
“Dreams” – Pomplamoose
Who doesn’t love a good Fleetwood Mac cover? Pomplamoose offers just that with this synth-infused version of the iconic song “Dreams.”
“YELLOW” – Nick Monaco
This bassline-heavy song is a reminiscent of another indie favourite Camel Power Club with vocal sound elements that remind me a bit of Wildcat! Wildcat! I dare you not to dance while listening.
“Purple Hat” – Sofi Tukker
This group, and their music, is so wonderfully weird. Although, not weird enough for it to not show up in mainstream car commercials. Give “Purple Hat” a listen if you want something to bop around in your bedroom to.
“TV” (feat. Pom Pom Squad) – Tyzo Bloom
I really enjoying running to this ‘90s-style electric guitar, strum-filled song. The persistent guitar plucks easily take root in your brain (in the best possible way.)
“Blue Eyes Forever” – Charlotte OC
I’m a sucker for a driving rhythm. This song has an airy vocal that sits on top of steady bass notes and rim shots, like…the drumming kind. Give it a listen for chill vibes!
