See a Parade of 5 Planets Tonight In the Night Sky

Look West about thirty minutes after sunset on March 27 to see a “parade of planets”. Mercury, Jupiter, Venus, Uranus, Mars, and the Moon will be aligned in arc in the evening sky – although you’ll only be able to see Jupiter, Venus, Mars, and the Moon with the naked eye. Grab some binoculars or a telescope for the rest.

With the New Moon, clear skies, and warmer evening temperatures, I have really been enjoying looking peering into the cosmos, thanks to the extra visibility that accompanies darkened skies due to the diminished moonlight. The Aurora Borealis (and Australis for the Southern hemisphere folks) has also been visible as far south as the Northern United States, although I have yet to see them myself! This is a result of recent solar flares and winds that have rocked our planet’s magnetic field.

And remember to download the SkyView Lite app to know what you’re looking at.

Get outside and take a look!
