Quinn Christopherson Captivates With His Musical Storytelling

I discovered Quinn Christopherson this weekend and have quickly become obsessed with his earnest lyrics and storytelling. And, I seldom “hear” lyrics unless I’m listening to Ani DiFranco or Of Monsters and Men.

He performed a set with his friend and fellow musician, Nick Carpenter, at Tiny Desk a few years ago, and admitted he didn’t even own his own guitar before winning the set as part of a competition. Such is the Anchorage, Alaska music scene, apparently, with a close knit music community built on borrowing. But, he seems destined for big things – and a lot of instrument ownership – with his debut album Write Your Name in Pink, which is about as solid as they come.

Dive into some of my favourite songs (so far) below, which include the acoustic version of “Evelene”, as well as “Kids”, “2005”, “Simple”, and “Erase Me”.
